Still friends with Amanda Bynes? Drake Bell recalls the last time they spoke

Drake Bell and Josh Peck -- two former child stars who all of us grew up with. Both actors were pioneers of the Nickelodeon takeover during the early 2000's, but have continued their careers with music and other forms of media. That said, another former child superstar who has faced hard times is Amanda Bynes.
The three of them were once close friends, especially during their time on the Amanda Show, where they all rose to fame. Recently, the Quiet on Set documentary premiered, a grim documentary that highlighted the abuse these former child actors faced.
Now, Peck and Bell have reunited for the first time since the documentary aired, and the pair gave fans an inside scoop into their relationship with Amanda Bynes.
In the two-part episode of the Good Guys Podcast, the podcast created by Josh Peck, the duo delved into details about their friendship with Amanda Bynes

According to People Magazine, Bell shared that this was information he'd already told Peck, but that he reached out to Bynes about eight years ago when he saw some headlines about her ups and downs.

"I randomly talked to her, like, it was 2017, maybe. It's around that time. I randomly messaged her. She was in the news or something, and I was just thinking about her. And I was like, 'Oh, I'm just gonna message her. She'll never see it. She'll never respond,' " Bell shared.
"Other than being on the show, and, you know, she was an idol to me. I mean, I grew up on All That. One of the most talented people on the label," Bell said. "When I got to audition for The Amanda Show, she may as well have been Rachel on Friends. She was the biggest thing on the planet to me."
"She was great then, she remains great, and such a good person," he continued. "Obviously has had some public struggles, but I just think she's got one of the great hearts and great skills, great talents of anyone there is."
"All I've ever experienced with Amanda was just like this dynamite force of nature when it comes to talent," he added. "Watching her was like watching Carol Burnett, was like watching Tracey Ullman."
Regardless of Amanda's current struggle, you can still see the tremendous amount of respect the duo still have for her.
All three of them have been through so much, and it's incredible to see them step back into the lime-light.
