According to industry insiders, Swift turned down the offer after the NFL rejected key conditions she set.

The sticking point was what Taylor Swift was, and then wasn't, willing to accept. Like every artist before her, she was asked to perform for free, with the NFL citing the « massive exposure » the show brings.
But as one insider put it bluntly, Taylor Swift doesn't need exposure. Instead, she reportedly asked for terms that reflected her status in the industry.
That included retaining full ownership of her performance and securing ad slots to promote her own projects during the broadcast. The NFL wasn't willing to agree, and just like that, the talks ended.
