Shocking return! Eamonn Walker reprises role in Chicago Fire nearly a year after leaving the show

Hang on to your hats! Eamonn Walker , widely known for his role as Wallace Boden in the smash series Chicago Fire announced he will be returning to the show.
Well, this was not expected!
According to sources, Eamonn Walker will be returning to the show -- but there's a twist.
Eamonn will reprise his role as Wallace Boden, but for just one night only!
In the season 12 finale, Boden left Firehouse 51 to become the Deputy Fire Commissioner of Chicago -- a socking twist that devastated fans.
The special episode will feature Boden running a post incident analyses following a terrifying fire that collapsed with a firefighter inside
In a statement, showrunner Andrea Newman said they're "so excited to have our beloved Chief Boden back, and the episode, titled 'Post-Mortem,' is a thrill ride unlike any we've done before."
She continued of what's to come, "Told with flashbacks and unique POVs, Chief Boden leads our team on a search to discover the how, who, and why of a fierce firefight that ended in disaster."
I've always been a big fan of Chicago Fire, and this is one episode I refuse to miss.
For those who aren't familiar, Wallace Borden is a fierce leader, known for his tough as-nails demeanour and deep love for his team.
Although Eamonn Walker will be returning for just one episode, it's a great initiative by the production team to be tribute to his hard years of work on the show.
The episode will undoubtedly evoke a strong sence of nostalgia -- with a few tears i'm sure.
Chicago Fire airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
