New York Yankee's star Brett Gardner mourns the tragic passing of his 14 year old boy

Sometimes, there's news that we hate to report, but this is one of those circumstances. It's with extreme sadness that share that Brett Gardner's 14 year old son had tragically passed away.
Brett Gardner and his wife are going through one of the most traumatic experiences of their life right now ad their young boy, Miller, and unfortunately breathed his last breath.
The Gardner family shares official statement
In a recent publication, we learned that their young son, Miller, fell extremely ill while on vacation. For now, there are still a number of unanswered questions regarding the situation.
Here is the official message from Brett and his wife, published by the New York Yankees social media page.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our youngest son, Miller. He was 14 years old, and we left him far too soon after he and several other family members became ill during the holidays. We have so many questions and so few answers at this point, but we do know that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, March 21st. Miller was a beloved son and brother, and we still can't imagine our lives without his infectious smile. He loved football, baseball, golf, hunting, fishing, his family, and friends. He lived every day to the fullest.
We are deeply grateful to all those who have reached out to offer support and encouragement during this difficult time, and we are confident that our faith, family, and friends will help us overcome this unimaginable loss. Our prayers are with Miller's teammates and friends, as well as all the other families who have lost a child far too soon, and we share their grief. Please respect our wishes for privacy as we grieve and seek healing.
