According to TMZ, a spokesperson for the St. Johns County Fire Rescue in Florida confirmed that emergency crews responded to a call for a «nonresponsive person in cardiac arrest.» Sadly, Rivers could not be revived.
A representative for the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office added that deputies responded to what they described as an «attended death» - a term used when someone dies under medical care for a serious or terminal illness expected to lead to death within a short time.
