Denzel Washington is undoubtedly one of the best actors of all-time. Let's face it, he's a total masterclass performer who's never failed to delivers timeless performances. Through the years, he's showcased a tremendous amount of versatility and skill, tackling challenging roles and mastering all of them.

Truly, Denzel's performances have set the bar so high, any predecessor will have their hands full in order to surpass him. While Denzel has proven himself to be one of the all time greats, the great actor recalls one movie in particular that sent him over the edge and made him cry.
Now, if you don't know Denzel Washington, you must live under a rock. The Malcom X actor is also a producer, and director.
Known for his dramatic roles on stage and screen, The New York Times named him the greatest actor of the 21st century in 2020. He has received several accolades, including two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and a Tony Award!
That said, he's also a big fan of movies in general.
Recently, Denzel Washington opened up in an interview about his first time watching Black Panther, revealing that it brought him to tears and filled him with pride for the next generation of Black actors.

The Black Panther made Denzel Washington cry

According to People Magazine, In the new two-part Apple TV+ documentary Number One on the Call Sheet, Washington, 70, recalls one memorable moment when he was overcome with emotion in the darkness of a movie theatre.
"I cried a little bit when I saw Black Panther," Washington says of the 2018 blockbuster film starring Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan and directed by Ryan Coogler. "I was on Broadway [in The Iceman Cometh], in fact, and I went to the premiere, and I wasn't interested in the red carpet and all that."

"So I went backstage and I saw Chad and Ryan," he continues. "I spoke to them and then I sat down and watched the movie. And I felt like the baton had been passed. I was like, 'Wow, these young boys are gone,' you know. I felt, I don't know if the word is 'relieved,' but I was proud to see what they had done and seeing where they were headed."

How wonderful!
While Chadwick Boseman, the star of Black Panther has since passed, it's great to see the younger generation is getting the nod of approval from one of the greatest of all time.
