Christina Applegate has long been one of America's most beloved actresses. Although her talent has blessed our screens for decades, her struggle with MS has prevented her from living a normal life. According to sources, Applegate admits to being hospitalized more than 30 times due to throwing up, diarrhea, and excruciating pain.
For those who are unfamiliar with MS, Multiple sclerosis is a disease that causes breakdown of the protective covering of nerves. Multiple sclerosis can cause numbness, weakness, trouble walking, vision changes and other symptoms -- a terrible illness to say the least.
A few months ago, Applegate made recalled her initial symptoms which has prompted a downward spiral in her health.
«I remember falling that day,» Applegate said in the discussion with Dead to Me creator Liz Feldman. «Hi, first sign of MS! So, not to bring everybody down, but there it was.»
«I remember you losing your balance when we were shooting the pilot a couple of times,» Feldman, 47, told Applegate. «It was very hard to figure it out because, you know, I remember one time, it was really late at night. We'd been shooting probably 14 or 15 hours It seemed completely reasonable that anybody would be collapsing.»
According to TMZ, The "Married... with Children" star -- who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021 -- recently opened up about her struggles.
As per Applegate, she's been been hospitalized over 30 times due to unbearable pain linked to her MS.
How terrible!
The Emmy winner has been vulnerable about her life with MS ever since her diagnosis ... last year she revealed she felt "trapped" in "darkness" due to the depression her MS has brought on. Before that, she openly discussed her MS-induced weight gain.
According to reports, she's currently undergoing "every medical test" in the book to get to the bottom of her unbearable symptoms, but nothing seems to be working.
Christina Applegate urges everyone who thinks they may have symptoms related to MS get checked.
