Television host Ryan Seacrest has shared heartbreaking news with his fans - his father, Gary Lee Seacrest, has passed away at the age of 81 after a long battle with prostate cancer.
The Wheel of Fortune host announced the news Friday on Instagram, posting several family photos alongside an emotional message.
«My dad peacefully passed away earlier this week,» he wrote. «We find comfort in knowing he's in a better place, free of pain and suffering.»
Ryan ended the post with a heartfelt note addressed directly to his father: «Dad, you will live in our hearts forever. I love you.»

Gary Seacrest was married to his wife, Marie Zullinger, for 55 years.
