Reese Witherspoon announces which actress won the role of Elle Woods

Last spring, Amazon announced it's plans for a series inspired by the hit movies Legally Blonde.

The smash movie series follows the fun adventures of Elle Woods, a fashion marketing student who also belongs to a sorority, who's life was turned upside-down after her boyfriend tragically broke up with her, because she doesn't align with his vision of an ideal wife. In efforts to win back his love, she takes on the bold risk of enrolling herself into the law program at Harvard. Elle goes onto to become a brilliant lawyer, finds love, and passes a law to prevent harmful testing on animals.

The movie was an instant "cult classic" and even became a musical in 2007.

The series produced by Prime Video will explore Elle's past and the significant moments of her life that shaped and defined her.

Last week, Reese Witherspoon revealed on instagram that actress Lexi Minetree, who is known for her role on Law & Order will be the one to portray her iconic role. Furthermore, Reese decided to shock the world by filming her reaction in a heart-warming video.

For Minetree's audition, she brilliantly decided to record her own rendition of Elle's enrolment video to Harvard, all while capturing the perfect essence of the role. Now, the series is officially under works in partnership with Prime Video, Hello Sunshine, Reese's own company, and screen writer Laura Kittrell (Black monday, the Comedians, The Dolls) will all help realize this amazing production.
