Fans of Southern rap legend Young Bleed are rallying together this week after news broke that the Baton Rouge rapper is currently in critical condition in the ICU.

The update comes directly from Master P, who confirmed that his longtime collaborator is still alive and «fighting hard.»
The announcement follows a wave of false online reports that prematurely claimed the 47-year-old artist had died.
Those rumors quickly spread across social media on Tuesday, leaving fans confused and family members heartbroken.
Master P took to Instagram to set the record straight, asking his millions of followers to «keep Young Bleed in your prayers.»
Young Bleed, whose real name is Glenn Clifton Jr., rose to fame in the late 1990s with the hit «How Ya Do Dat,» a track that helped define Louisiana's rap scene and put Baton Rouge on the national map.
Ironically, the artist had just delivered an energetic performance of that same song at ComplexCon last weekend, where fans were thrilled to see him back on stage.

Family clears up rumors after false death reports

After false reports of his death circulated online, Young Bleed's sister Tedra released a public message insisting that her brother is alive but remains hospitalized.
«He's still here, still fighting,» she wrote, asking fans to respect the family's privacy and stop spreading unverified information.
His mother also spoke out, describing the distress caused by the flood of calls and messages mourning her son. «It's been overwhelming,» she said, urging people to stop posting RIP tributes and instead focus their energy on hope and prayer.
Sources close to the family say Young Bleed suffered a sudden medical emergency earlier this week, though the exact cause has not been disclosed.
Those who know him best describe the rapper as strong-willed and optimistic, holding onto faith even in difficult circumstances.
Master P, who collaborated with Young Bleed on several projects under the No Limit label in the late 1990s, emphasized how much the artist means to the Southern hip-hop community.
«He's family,» Master P said. «We're praying for a miracle.»
As of Tuesday evening, Young Bleed remains under intensive care with his family by his side.
Fans across the world continue to post messages of support using the hashtag #PrayForYoungBleed, flooding social media with love and memories of his music.
