Well, it appears that those prayers have been heard, and Gladys Knight has finally been discharged from the hospital and is reunited with her loving husband.

According to TMZ, Knight and McDowell met back in 2001 ... and, after just a few months together, they decided to take the leap and tie the knot. McDowell is Knight's fourth husband.

Following the shocking backstage incident, the venue's management staff provided an update on her condition.

«Tonight's performance by Gladys Knight was cancelled due to illness,» the venue's statement said. «Ms Knight and another member of her staff were taken ill backstage, very suddenly, and at the last minute, which necessitated the sudden cancellation of the show.»
