The U.S. Bureau of Prisons has confirmed that Sean «Diddy» Combs could be released on May 8, 2028. The date reflects the time he has already served behind bars during his widely covered federal trial.

According to court documents obtained by several American outlets, the projected release accounts for credits earned while Combs was detained for roughly a year in a Brooklyn facility.
The 55-year-old rapper, producer, and entrepreneur was convicted in October 2025 on two counts related to transportation for prostitution.
However, Combs was acquitted of more serious charges, including human trafficking and extortion.
These mixed verdicts concluded a trial that spanned more than two months and captured global attention.
The Bureau of Prisons has not yet determined where Combs will serve the remainder of his sentence.
He could be moved to a medium-security institution depending on behavior and official recommendations.

Sean Combs: a dramatic fall from hip-hop royalty

Combs' legal downfall marks a stunning turn for one of the most influential figures in American music.
As the founder of Bad Boy Records and producer for stars like The Notorious B.I.G. and Mary J. Blige, Diddy built an empire that blended music, fashion, and luxury branding.
Over the decades, he became an icon of hip-hop culture and a symbol of Black entrepreneurial success.
That image collapsed as multiple investigations into alleged misconduct and abuse surfaced.
Federal prosecutors accused him of organizing a network of travel and encounters under «exploitative circumstances.»
His defense team argued the relationships were consensual and that the case relied on inconsistent testimony.
This week, the White House confirmed that President Donald Trump received an official request for a presidential pardon from Sean Combs.
No comment has been made on whether the request will be granted.
For now, Combs' legal team says it is focused on a potential appeal and on pursuing early release for good behavior - which could allow him to regain his freedom before 2028.
Observers say this case represents a turning point in how fame, wealth, and justice intersect in the United States.
